There are currently around 100 ha of developed industrial land in Bremerhaven available for immediate inward investment, and another 240 ha of land awaiting development, mostly with connections to waterways. Future developments and ideal logistical conditions are key aspects in planning and developing these industrial estates.

This includes purchasing land and real estate, developing new industrial estates, creating ideal transport links to and within the industrial estates, managing projects and coordinating all infrastructural measures and structural engineering, in addition to revitalising disused industrial sites, remediating contaminated sites and coordinating compensatory measures to offset environmental impacts.

Shaping the entire infrastructure within and to industrial estates provides the essential foundations for new investment. The central focus for BIS in performing its work is on the needs of business.
